More progress!

20 Sep

I won’t bore you with all the details like yesterday, but Vicki and I now have our “permission to sign contracts,” which is the first step towards getting our resident visas. The chief of immigration in Arequipa has validated our plan, so now it’s just a matter of time and procedure. We have been amazed at how people have turned up at just the right time, without our even asking, to help translate for us and navigate the system. Pastor Efraín, who works closely with David J in student ministry, spent two mornings accompanying us to immigration, an accountant, and a lawyer. Another brother is going with us to look at rentals tomorrow. We are very thankful. We didn’t choreograph our arrival and subsequent proceedings nearly this well, but the Lord did!
